EYELASH EXTENSIONS

ext 5.JPG

Eyelash extensions are individual synthetic lashes of different lengths, curls and weight (thickness) cut in the shape of a natural lash and applied one-by-one to each individual natural lash as an ‘extension’ of your natural lash.

The lash extension application can take anywhere from 2 to 3 hours, depending on the fullness of your natural lashes. This is a meticulous procedure that requires patience and concentration. Therefore, it is important not to rush the process so that you can leave with great set of lashes! You will be relaxing with your eyes closed, and you will feel no pain as this is a non-invasive procedure. Many of our clients are so relaxed that they often fall asleep!

Lash extensions require touch ups every 2-3 weeks to maintain their fullness. The longevity of your extensions will vary based upon your natural lash growth cycle. If your hair grows fast, then so will your extensions, and fills will be needed more often. The average human eye sheds 5-7 natural eyelashes per day, this is 70-90 natural lashes within 2 weeks (half your natural eyelashes).  This is why touch ups are recommended every 2 to 3 weeks to maintain your lash extensions.

A patch test is available and can be performed 48 hours. You should be aware that if you have (or think you could have) skin allergies or sensitive skin please use your good judgement.

Prior to Eye Lash Extension Appointment

  • Wear comfortable clothing.

  • Remove your contacts.

  • Turn off your cellphone just prior to your appointment.

  • Don’t wear eye makeup

  • Don’t apply face cream or sunblock to the eye area

  • Don’t wear mascara

  • Don’t wear large or dangly earrings

  • Don’t curl your lashes on the day of your lash application

  • Please don’t bring small children to the appointment

  • Come ready to relax and don’t be rushed

How to care for Eye Lash Extensions

  • Never allow shower water to beat directly on your extensions. Constant pressure on the extensions can cause them to "pop" off or wear off sooner than normal.

  • Do not rub, pick, pull or twist your extensions.

  • Do not sleep on your lashes. If you are a side sleeper, try and keep your lashes out of the pillow (sleeping on your side or your face creates wrinkles and lines on your face, in addition to ruining your lashes- incentive to Not sleep on your face).

  • Gently comb the tips of your extensions with the spoolie brush provided as needed to straighten and "fluff" your extensions. Do not over comb your extensions, or use the spoolie brush as you would with mascara.

  • Never use mascara on your extensions, as this will shorten the lifespan of your extensions, cause clumping, and dissolve the adhesive. You can use mascara on your bottom lashes.

  • Never use organic solvents or oil makeup removers on your extensions, as this will dissolve the adhesive and ruin your extensions.

  • Schedule regular fills every 2 weeks to maintain the fullness and natural look of your extensions.

  • Cleanse your eyelash extensions several times per week, if not daily, with a water-based non-irritating lash cleanser.

EYELASH TINTING

lash tinting.JPG

Eyelash tinting consists of adding a special dye to your eyelashes, giving you 2 to 3 weeks of dark, full lashes without the assistance of mascara. Eyelash tinting takes about 10 minutes. It’s a quick and painless process. People with naturally light lashes often find eyelash tinting especially beneficial to their overall facial aesthetics.

Eyelash can be performed 48 hours. You should be aware that if you have (or think you could have) skin allergies or sensitive skin please use your good judgement.

EYEBROW TINTING

tinting.jpg

Eyebrow tinting uses semi-permanent dye to enhance the color, thickness and shape of the natural brow. Perfect if you want darker brows or to cover gray hair. Results can be seen immediately following treatment. It lasts about 2 to 3 weeks.

HENNA EYEBROW

henna1.JPG

Henna brows are a form of eyebrow tinting that is used to stain and color the brow. Henna is perfect for those who have slightly sparse eyebrows as it also stains not only the brow hairs but also stains the skin creating a powder filled in look. Henna covers gray hair and helps to improve the shape and design of eyebrows. If you are thinking about Microblading but are undecided, Henna is a great service to experiment prior to Microblading as you can visualize the future shape of your brows. Results last from 3 to 10 days depending on skin type and post care. Henna doesn’t last very long in oily skin.

Even though Henna Brows is a low risk treatment you could have an allergic reaction. A patch test is available and can be performed 48 hours. You should be aware that if you have (or think you could have) skin allergies or sensitive skin please use your good judgement.

  • HOW LONG DOES THE MICROBLADING PROCEDURE TAKE?
There are two sessions required to complete the Microblading procedure. The first Microblading session typically takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. During this session, the brow technician will shape and style the client’s brows for client approval. We then follow with pigment color selection. Once the client is satisfied with the choices, we begin the procedure. The second Microblading session takes place after 6-8 weeks after the initial session. This session will take approximately 1.5-2 hours to complete.
  • PRIOR TO MICROBLADING PROCEDURE
It is very important to refrain from all alcohol, aspirin, or aspirin products, such as blood thinners. Please check with your physician if you are taking blood thinners to determine if this procedure is right for you. Please refrain from Ibuprofen and Aleve for 24 hours prior to your appointment. The only product for aches and pain that will not make you bleed is Tylenol. Also refrain from Vitamin E and fish oil capsules for 7 days prior to your application. Please avoid energy drinks & coffee for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Not having caffeine in your system will help you to relax much more easily, as well as help to relax the facial muscles in the areas we will be working on. Please don’t bring small children to the appointment. Please turn off your phone during the procedure. Only you will be allowed in the room during the Microblading procedure due to liability and sanitation reasons. In addition, Microblading requires focus and concentration by the artist. Any distraction should be avoided.
  • HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING LAST?
Since Microblading pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade over time. Microblading typically lasts 1 to 2 years, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature). Your skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment. Patients who tan, uses products with AHA or Glycolic Acid with fade faster as your skin will resurface faster. Each individual's color retention within the skin will vary. To maintain the fresh look of your brows, a touch up is suggested every 12 to 18 months. Clients can let the microbladed area fade over time, but please note a slight shadow may remain.
  • DOES MICROBLADING HURT?
Everyone’s level of discomfort is different. I have clients who don't feel a thing while others are a little bit more uncomfortable. I use topical lidocaine based numbing creams throughout the procedure to numb the brow area and minimize discomfort.
  • AFTER MICROBLADING PROCEDURE
Keep eyebrows lightly glossed with post care cream 3 times per day for 5 days. Do not over use ointment, only apply very thin layer. Do not suffocate your eyebrows. Do not use any Retin-A, Glycolic Acids, Peroxide, Neosporin while healing Do not scrub, scratch or pick your eyebrows. Do not expose area to sun or tanning beds! Avoid any facials, swimming, whirlpools or sauna for 7 days. Do not exercise the first 3-5 days. No heavy sweating! No make-up on the eyebrows for 14 days! Do not tint eyebrows for the next 30 days.
  • HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR MICROBLADING TO HEAL?
The eyebrow area and color will appear very dark for the first few days following the procedure. Slight swelling and redness is also normal for one or two days after the procedure. Don’t be alarmed, this is completely normal for the procedure and is all part of the healing process. In the following days, you may notice slight scabbing. DO NOT PICK at the scabs as this may damage the skin and the outcome of the Microbladed area. It takes approximately 7 to 14 days for the brows to heal and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. The true color will reveal itself once your brows are completely healed. The eyebrows will lighten up in color and can fade anywhere from 40% to 60% as they heal, which is normal. It is also normal for the brows to shrink by approximately 1/3 during the healing process. It is very important that you follow all the post procedure instructions that we will provide to you for your eyebrows to ensure proper healing. Please be patient. Healing takes up to 30 days and any imperfections will be addressed at the follow-up session 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure.
  • AM I SUITABLE FOR MICROBLADING?
If any of the following apply to you, then you are likely not a suitable candidate for Microblading. If you have questions, please call and we can discuss your situation. Using Accutane in the past year Have heart conditions or using heart medications Have skin disease or irritations Allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine or epinephrine Sick with cold, flu, or sinus/respiratory infection (please reschedule your appointment and stay home to recover) Skin irritations including: sunburn, rash, eczema, shingles, acne, or psoriasis near the treated area Pregnant or nursing Under age 18 Had Botox within 3 weeks from scheduled appointment (Botox should be performed 3 weeks before or 3 weeks after the procedure) Uncontrolled Diabetes Epilepsy Undergoing chemo Prone to keloid scarring Pacemaker or major heart problems please let us know then we are not using machine Had an organ transplant Viral infections and or diseases Transmittable blood disease, HIV or Hepatitis Have oily skin. If you have extremely oily skin, the Microblading technique may NOT work well for you. The constant production of oil will cause the hair-strokes to expel the pigment or heal with a diffused, softer look. Your end result will look more powdered instead of a crisp hair stroke appearance or may not retain the pigment at all. Have had chemical peels within 60 days prior to procedure (must wait 60 days after procedure for chemical peels) Anyone who has any serious medical conditions may require a physician's note authorizing the procedure.
  • WHAT ARE THE RISKS OR COMPLICATIONS OF MICROBLADING?
I take all proper safety and sanitary precautions to minimize the risk of complications. I only use sterilized and disposable equipment, in a clean, professional and sanitized environment. There should be minimal risks or complications when clients follow our pre and post care instructions. Although allergic reactions to the pigments are rare, they are possible for certain individuals. We offer a pigment patch test for all clients (upon request), and recommend a patch test for those who have high skin sensitivities or are sensitive to: Topical makeup products Gold, silver and nickel Hair dyes Patch tests should be performed 5-7 days prior.
  • WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE RESULTS FROM MICROBLADING?
As with all cosmetic procedures, individuals should not make their choices lightly. I always recommend clients do their research, understand the procedure and compare different artists' work and portfolio when making their decisions. Prior to the procedure, I will outline the shape and style of your eyebrows to your satisfaction. The procedure will not begin until you are satisfied and approve the shape and style of your new eyebrows. Every effort will be made to achieve an even appearance, but please realize our faces are never perfectly symmetrical and no two sides of the face are the same. Perfection is my goal, but brows are sisters not twins. Permanent Makeup is an Art, not a science. Prior to the procedure, I will suggest the best color for you based on your natural hair color and your desired result. Remember, pigment discoloration and color can be addressed during the touch up session.
