From Brazilian waxing to body and facial waxing, we do it all! Waxing is one of the best ways to temporarily remove unwanted hair. It is more effective than shaving because it removes hair from the roots, not just from the skin’s surface, so the hair takes longer to grow back. Over time, hair in waxed areas, grows back more softly and comes in more sparsely and in some cases doesn’t come back at all.
Marcilene Beauty Studio provides discreet, affordable and exceptional waxing services for both men and women. We offer a relaxing, clean, and comfortable environment for your waxing needs. Although waxing has been known to be somewhat uncomfortable, with the proper technique and with high quality wax the pain is very minimal. Almost any area of the body can be waxed!

Frequently asked questions
WILL WAXING MAKE MY HAIR GROW BACK THICKER, DARKER, OR HEAVIER?
No, it will not. Waxing removes hair by the root, often weakening the root in the process. Therefore, if anything, waxing may make the hair finer and softer with repeated regular waxing.
CAN I TAN AFTER MY WAXING?
We recommend that you do not tan before or at least 24 hours after. Also, don't come in with a fresh spray tan because waxing will exfoliate your tan right off! It is best to wait 24 hours after waxing before getting a spray tan.
I HAVE A SPECIAL OCCATION PLANNED AND WANT TO GET WAXED FOR THE FIRST TIME. ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS?
Yes! If you are waxing for the first time for a special event or occasion, we strongly recommend scheduling the same service 4-8 weeks PRIOR to make sure that you have no adverse reactions and to ensure that you have the best results possible.
HOW LONG DO I NEED TO LET MY HAIR GROW?
You must let your hair grow in for at least 2-3 weeks if you have shaved in order to get a good wax. This should be about a half an inch, compare it to the length of your eyebrow hairs. If you can pull on it with your fingers, it is probably long enough.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE WAXING DONE?
This varies depending on area of body being waxed and individual hair growth, however, on average we recommend waxing every 4 weeks for best results.
Eyebrows can vary from every 2-6 weeks depending on the fullness and rate of growth. NO SHAVING in that area between waxes. Shaving traumatizes the hair follicle and creates redness and ingrown hairs.
I AM ON MY CYCLE CAN I STILL GET WAXED?
Yes. If you are on your cycle just wear a tampon and be prepared to be a little more sensitive than usual. Same goes for a few days before you cycle as well.
IF I AM PREGNANT CAN I STILL GET WAXED?
Yes. You may be a little more sensitive than usual, but we regularly wax mothers-to-be up to a week before their due date!
DOES IT HURT?
It hurts more the first time than any other time because we are pulling out 100% of the hair, your nerves are on edge and you don't know what to expect. You will experience a quick temporary sting that stops hurting right away. By far the worst part for most people is the anticipation, not the actual removal. Follow all the tips we give you and you will be fine. You second time will be so much EASIER!
The pain associated with waxing is highly sensationalized and can be a barrier for some. Of course we are sensitive to this and do everything we can to minimize your discomfort. We recommend avoiding caffeine prior to your visit, and scheduling around your menstrual cycle, as both of these can make you more sensitive.
WHAT IS THE NORMAL SKIN REACTION TO WAXING?
It is normal for your skin to show some redness after waxing. Some skin is more sensitive than others and reactions may range from no redness at all to very red. The first time you wax an area, or if it has been awhile since your last waxing, you will probably experience some redness and sensitivity afterwards. This usually subsides within a few hours, or for very sensitive skin within 24 hours.
WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER WAXING?
To prevent clogged pores, it is best not to put any heavy lotions on the skin after waxing. Witch hazel, aloe vera gel, diluted pure lavender or blue chamomile essential oil may be used to soothe the skin. It is recommended to wait 24 hours before applying antiperspirant to underarms after waxing that area.
HOW DO I PREVENT INGROWN HAIRS?
Ingrown hairs are thin hairs that cannot push through the skin resulting in inflammation. The best way to prevent is to gently exfoliate 2-3 times a week. We have a variety of products available including exfoliating gloves, body scrubs and Tend Skin to help minimize this condition
CAN MEDICATION AFFECT WAXING?
Yes! You CANNOT be waxed if you are taking any antibiotics, Accutane, Differin, or Retin A, or retinol products. Accutane users must wait a full year before waxing. A good rule of thumb is that if you are using a prescription from a dermatologist, you should check with them prior to any waxing or skin service.
All of these products thin out and weaken your skin making you more sensitive and likely to burn or peel. You should wait 2-6 weeks depending on how long you have been on the medication before you wax as we want to make sure the medication is out of your system so you have the best waxing experience possible. If you are not sure of how you may react from any medication you are taking, please give us a call beforehand so we can help you determine if you are able to get waxed.
